For some days now, students living on the In-Domus Campuses rented apartments in Milan have been able to start living the so-called “new normal”.
The rules for social distancing introduced for the Coronavirus emergency still remain partially in force but at the same time social life is revived and the alternatives for enjoying the big city are not lacking.
We write, therefore, for those who want to leave their rented apartments and feel in all respects as a part of the metropolitan activities.
Two out of three of the Milanese airports are still closed (Milan Linate and Milan Malpensa T2) as well as many of the international destinations to which to refer for a holiday or a short stay. On the positive side, Malpensa T1 operates in normal conditions, except for the number of travelers on the airport itself, which is still very scarce.
The concerts’ situation is not so rosy. For owners of apartments for rent on the In-Domus Campuses it is still a matter of waiting several months. In fact, most of the concerts have been postponed to the new year and before 2021 it won’t be possible to admire Patti Smith, Paul Weller, Le Vibrazioni and the many others who have crowded the 2020 calendar during the unsuspected times.
Big news conversely for cinemas and theaters that are experiencing enthusiasm for outdoor performances. Not only the Franco Parenti Theater inaugurated the season in their outdoor space. It is also the case of the Teatro Piccolo in Milan which organized an entire calendar up to September 20th called Spazi di Teatro which sees the Cloister in via Rovello and other Milanese municipal spaces as a stage for prose, tragedy and beyond. The tendency of the “outdoors openings”, so to speak, has also reached the cinema that revived the Drive-In phenomenon more than 60 years later. Not far from the Milan Parco Nord it will be in fact possible to watch movies from your own mean of transport, bicycles included, from June 24th to July 5th. And the first spectacle could only be “Grease” …
For those who want to adopt the fashion of being outdoors, which will probably last all summer, here are some solutions also for eating. Countryside places in the province as happens in Gaggiano with the Cascina Guzzafame or in Milan with the Cascina Martesana, as well as central destinations such as the Bistrot Cloister in the ancient courtyard of the Diocesan Museum or the open space of Dulcis in Fundo close to the Central Station, the important part is to enjoy your meal under the Milanese stars, hopefully sheltered from unwanted infections and neighborhoods.
Great enthusiasm therefore for the Milanese evenings even in the Coronavirus era. For those off-site students who live in rented apartments on the In-Domus Campuses there is no lack of choices…
