
When it comes to state universities, the State University of Milan is certainly one of the reference names for future freshmen. However, it is not the only choice.

The public universities present in Milan are the University of Milan, the State, and the University of Milan – Bicocca and the Polytechnic.
There are also have four private universities: the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Bocconi, IULM and the Vita – Salute San Raffaele University.

In summary:
– there is a no tax area for students with University ISEE up to € 22,000;
– there are other exemptions for reasons of merit, conditions of disability or more;
– the first tuition fee installment is the same for everyone and amounts to 156 euros, to be paid by 30 September;
– the second first tuition fee installment must be paid by January 31 and has a variable amount with a minimum of 3% on the difference between the student’s ISEE and the 20,000-euro ISEE.
The headquarters of the State University of Milan is located in the city center, in via Festa del Perdono 7, where besides the Rectorate there are the General Management, the Central Administrative Offices, the Services for Erasmus and mobility students and an office dedicated to the post-graduate studies.
In addition to the main office, there is another facility located in via Santa Sofia 9/1, a five-minute walk from the headquarters, where the student administration offices, the COSP center and the welcome desk for international students are located. In via Sant’Antonio, on the other hand, there are offices for staff. The Statale has other buildings too, throughout Milan and Lombardy, where teaching is carried out.
