Also in 2018 In-Domus Milano will participate with its Campus Monneret University Residence at the annual Open House Milano event which will be held during the weekend of 5 and 6 May 2018.
Open House Milano, now in its 3rd edition, is an annual event open to all and takes place throughout Milan from the center to the suburbs.
For a whole weekend you can access for free, supported by specialized and voluntary guides, public and private buildings of considerable architectural value.
Normally the event is projected to bring the public’s attention to buildings not normally accessible, to the modern and contemporary architectural heritage without neglecting the artistic and cultural richness that characterizes Milan from antiquity onwards.
Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 may there will be the opportunity to (re) discover an unpublished Milan made of known and lesser known buildings, which will take on new meanings thanks to the free guided tours held by the designers themselves, students of the Milanese faculties and architecture.
Open House Milano has been part of the Open House Worldwide circuit since 2015, an international event that is spread over 4 continents and 31 cities; in Italy it has been present since 2012 thanks to Open House Roma.
05.05.18 OPEN DOORS TO THE MONNERET CAMPUS
Saturday 5 May from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm, In-Domus Milano will make its own Campus Monneret available to visitors; a temporary residence, the result of a project for the recovery / reconstruction of an old student house in the Lambrate area.
Born with the aim of creating a new and efficient student residential complex, the project solves a series of critical issues related to the existing building, including safety and energy consumption.
The new intervention on the building, placed in a strongly anthropized fabric and affected by a dense network of pre-existing settlements, reshapes the envelope line through a new façade characterized by fixed volumes played on the grid of the perimeter walls, thus creating a more homogeneous volumetric character and recognizable and encouraging a more harmonious dialogue with the buildings of the area and the public spaces that surround it.
On this occasion it will be possible to visit the common areas, such as reception, gym and study room, as well as the student rooms and rooms.
